Les Abouts by Atelier Pierre Thibault
Nestled within the forest, this wooden haven is a place where art and nature become one. Designed for contemporary art collectors who dreamed of a spacious and warm home to display their works and live their daily lives, the layout unfolds in two distinct sections separated by a central corridor. The first section, a single-story structure extending over thirty meters, harmonizes with the horizontal line of the river that meanders around the site and appears to float above the ferns and mosses meticulously maintained by the residents. In contrast, the second section rises to two stories, offering interior spaces reminiscent of an art gallery. Throughout, the openings frame views of tree trunks like landscape paintings, naturally complementing the collected artworks.
