Grossman Gräshoppa (Grasshopper) Floor Lamp is a metal floor lamp with simplicity, designed by Greta M. Grossman for Gubi. It was one of the most iconic products Greta M. Grossman designed in the 1940's and 1950's. What makes the Grossman designs most interesting is their sophisticated, yet playful design; the pieces exhibit a whimsical form that is both organic and modern. The Gräshoppa lamp was first produced in 1947, gives with its unique stance the impression that the lamp is somehow alive and stalking its prey. The tubular steel tripod stand is tilted backward and the elongated aluminum conical shade is ball-jointed onto the arm; so the light can be directional, yet the glare is minimal. Both stand and shade are powder-coated.
