Copenhague Table CPH30 is a wooden dining table with natural simplicity, designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for HAY. Copenhague is a furniture series designed especially for the new buildings at the University of Copenhagen. In addition to a homely and welcoming expression, functional furniture qualities such as stackability, durability and ease of cleaning were important design requirements for the university. The Bouroullec brothers approach the task by merging design history with modern technology in an idiom with a strong and independent appearance in a broad and versatile series that embraces both public and private environments. CPH30 is the ordinary table in the Copenhague series with the extraordinary quality of featuring a colored linoleum tabletop. An untraditional surface on a traditional table challenges expectations and helps tell the story of the personal or formal context that the table enters into.
